What past students had to say about our cooking classes and certification programs

“The cooking classes provide a wonderful introduction to what kinds of foods are necessary to support healthy living and what these foods look like both in cooking and in presentation. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable in:
1. kitchen tools and how to use them safely
2. food preparation
3. presentation of food
4. how to make changes in recipes/substitutions when needed
There are probably a zillion things I have missed! I would definitely encourage anyone who doesn't cook a lot to someone who does love to cook to take these series of cooking classes as it puts the value of healthy cooking and eating in your own hands.
Sue M.

“I most enjoyed eating the food after cooking it together! I also enjoyed going home and being able to try out new skills and recipes for my husband.”
Ruth M.

“The wonderful recipes and the substitutions to take old recipes and convert them in to a healthier meal. My family has eaten foods the claim they do not like!”
Kelly S.

“Being with everyone and learning together and cooking together and especially sharing the delicious meals that we prepared.”
Louann P.

“The cooking certificate program is an essential component in changing to a healthier lifestyle. Participating in this program enabled me to prepare healthy meals on a daily basis and entertain with a variety of delicious dishes. Prior to this course my cooking talents consisted of following the directions on the box or can (prepared and processed). I was able to rid my pantry of all that nutritionally deficient food. Now my kitchen stables consist of fruits and vegetables in season, spelt flour, coconut and olive oils, grain fed beef and chicken and fish. Preparing foods ahead of time with current fruits and vegetables has helped me maintain a healthy diet throughout a busy work week.

I learned how to use various knives correctly (they are kept on my counter for daily use).
I learned specific cooking techniques that I didn`t understand before.
My husband is thrilled with my new cooking abilities. My kitchen will never be the same!

The most important part for me is that I have learned how to prepare healthy alternatives to replace a lifelong habit of eating poorly. This program provides the knowledge to ensure lifelong healthy eating. I completed this course being able to prepare main courses, appetizers, salads, and desserts.”
