Massage
Everyone needs massage therapy. Our bodies were made to move and interact with the world around us, but too often we are hindered by pain, fatigue, achey joints, or muscles that simply will not function. When combined with proper nutritional and chiropractic care, therapeutic massage therapy is able to address whatever it is that is holding your body back from being able to fully connect to the world around us.Acupuncture, an ancient Chinese medical procedure dating back to the 16th century, involves placing single-use stainless steel needles beneath the skin to stimulate the body’s 14 major meridians, or energy carrying channels, which connect to every organ of the body. The stimulation of these meridian pathways helps the body to resist or overcome illnesses and pain by correcting internal imbalances.
During a treatment, you will be able to relax while listening to music. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that will allow us to access points all around the body; shorts, skirts, baggy pants, and tank tops are great. It is advisable not to come to your session feeling very hungry, as it may result in light-headedness. Initial treatments are about 1 1/2 hours long, and follow-up treatments generally last 45 to 60 minutes.
Acupuncture is most often associated in the West with healing pain conditions such as back and neck pain or headaches. The list of conditions successfully treated with acupuncture is actually far broader. Because it benefits both emotional and physical symptoms, acupuncture is a great choice whenever stress is the cause of bodily symptoms.
Acupuncture needles may cause small bruises every now and then, but one of the greatest benefits of acupuncture is that there are no serious side effects. In many circumstances, people prefer natural treatment with acupuncture to taking medications that cause side effects such as loss of libido, unclear thinking, low energy, nausea, etc.
Neuro-imaging studies have shown how acupuncture positively affects the body and emotions by calming areas of the brain that register pain. Brain activation can be seen in those areas involved in rest and recuperation. Ultrasound imaging shows that acupuncture increases blood flow in treated areas, and thermal imaging shows it can make inflammation subside.
The World Health Organization recommends acupuncture for the treatment of 47 different illnesses, and the National Institutes of Health state that acupuncture is useful in treating post-operative or chronic pain and the nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy or chemotherapy.
Human beings are complex, and no treatment is 100% effective at treating all physical and emotional imbalances. Acupuncture has certainly withstood the test of time; it can safely be integrated with other methods of healing, and most people find it to be both relaxing and enjoyable. Treatments are relatively painless and can be done on their own or in combination with Nutrition Response Testing, depending on the individual needs of each client.
CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy is a noninvasive technique that helps detect and correct an imbalance within the rhythm of movement between the cranium and the sacrum. This is accomplished by analyzing the existing cranial rhythm, lengthening the spine in the lumbar-sacral region, and addressing each one of the cranial bones, all with a light, gentle touch.
Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu is a type of bodywork that utilizes palm, elbow, knee, or foot pressure, as well as stretching, rocking, kneading and a variety of other techniques to release tension and relieve stress-related ailments, aches, and pains. Shiatsu differs from some other forms of massage in that it requires no oil and no undressing.
Lymphatic Massage
A lymphatic massage is a technique used to help unblock the lymph system by cleansing it, increasing lymph flow. Lymph cleanses nearly every cell in your body, so increased lymph flow can remove the harmful substances in the tissues that contribute to colds and flu infections, joint pain, headaches and migraines, menstrual cramps, arthritis, fatigue, depression, acne, cellulite, and much more. A lymphatic massage is very gentle, utilizing either a combination of light pressure and soft pumping movements, or an Electro Lymphatic machine designed to cleanse the lymph.
What our clients are saying:
There have been many chapters of my healing in my journey at the WOLC. And massage has been written into many of those chapters. I have been blessed by this lovely young woman Michelle and her incredible gift of touch. I came to her at a point ready to move into the challenges I was having with my neck that were causing debilitating migraines, vertigo, severe equilibrium problems along with ear and eye issues. Without her part in the healing process I would not have moved to the level of function I have today. I’m walking better and moving more freely...she has helped give me back a part of my life that I thought was lost. Thank you Michelle, thank you WOLC!

My experience with the massage department at the Well of Life Center has been fantastic. It’s an intense experience and what it does to further one’s well-being cannot be matched. What I have learned about how and why my muscles are doing certain things is invaluable. I would encourage anyone coming to the Well of Life to try this modality.
