Well of Life Center for Holistic Healthcare

‘Tis the season for gathering with friends and families around meals and recipes that have been passed through your family’s generations. Holidays are most enjoyable when you are at your best, with health and energy to carry you through the hustle and bustle of hosting, shopping, and celebrating!  Follow along as our clinicians post weekly tips in preparation for HEALTHY, happy holidays!

Last week we posted some hacks to turn traditional holiday recipes into healthier versions of themselves! This week we are sharing alternate recipes for two of the most common Thanksgiving dinner foods.

The traditional Green Bean Casserole is a master of deceit, as its name indicates that it is a vegetable dish when, in actuality, it is usually full of processed ingredients, chemical additives, and harmful fats. Here is a healthy alternative that you can try!

You can skip loads of milk and cream cheese in your traditional mashed potatoes if you try out this recipe for mashed cauliflower. If you have potato lovers at your Thanksgiving meal, you might consider making a batch of mashed potatoes and a batch of mashed cauliflower, allowing healthier choices alongside the traditional ones!

If you are looking for more holiday recipes, we have you covered! Our holiday cookbook is FULL of appetizer, dinner, and dessert recipes for the season! Shop in our offices or online here.
